About

We connect buildings and stand behind them.

Access, intercom, cameras, and cabling for NYC buildings. Same standards, same crew, since 2013.

The crew behind the installs.

Every install runs on the crew, not just the gear. Our technicians are trained on the platforms we install, certified for safe work, and experienced in occupied buildings where tenants are living and working around them.

That means OSHA 30 and SST certified for NYC job sites, BICSI trained for structured cabling done to standard, and manufacturer certified on every platform we install. We hold those certifications, and we keep them current.

We don't send a different unknown crew every time. The people who scope your job are connected to the people who install it. That continuity is why the work holds up.

We work for the building, not the spec sheet.

The standard NYC low voltage install is cheap, fast, and proprietary. It works on day one. By year five, the fees keep climbing, nobody wrote down how it was wired, and the cabling can't carry what the building needs, so someone has to start over. We think that's a bad deal for the building, so we built the company around a different one.

We install on mainstream platforms. We design for what the building's going to need in the future. We document everything. The infrastructure stays yours: not ours, not the vendor's, not the next installer's. We don't cut corners, so we're not the cheapest. We don't try to be.

How every install actually runs.

We scope before we sell

Every job starts with a site visit. We walk the building, document what's there, and write a real scope. If the job isn't right for us, we say so.

We coordinate, we don't disrupt

Buildings have tenants. Tenants have lives. We work around them. We coordinate with property management, GCs, and building staff so the install doesn't become a problem.

We hand over the work

Every job ends with documentation. As-built drawings. Port maps. Test reports. Admin training. If you change maintainers in year four, the next team has everything they need.

Part of Whooden

Two companies. Same principles.

WhoodenSecurity wires and secures the building: access, intercom, cameras, cabling. WhoodenTech runs the IT for NYC businesses: managed services, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365. Since 2012.

Same principles across both: honest scoping, mainstream platforms, real support. No long contracts. When your office needs both physical and digital running right, having one company behind both means fewer hand-offs and no finger-pointing.
